Hyogokusari Nagafukurin Tachi

A tachi-style Japanese sword characterized by its Hyogo-style chain
decorations and fukurin (metal rim or overlay) enhancements.
It was a practical sword favored by high-ranking military commanders,
and was popular from the end of the Heian period to the Kamakura period.
From the mid-Kamakura period onwards,
it also came to be used as a votive offering to shrines and temples.


Special order product specifications

All metal fittings are made of brass and gold plated.
The Kabutogane, Tsuba, Fuchi, Kuchi and Ishuzuki are decorated with arabesque patterns,
and the Tawarabyo and Ashikanamono fittings are decorated with young pine patterns.
The tsuba is shaped like a quince, and comes with two large plain Seppas and small Seppas.
Both the Sarute and Obitori attachments
are made of Hyogo chain.
The Obitori chain consists of four lines and includes Mongane metal fittings that are intricately engraved
with a peony pattern.
The scabbard is painted with fine dust derived from blue shell, and the blade is made of high-quality alloy chrome.
